Product Description
The CK45 Skived and Roller Burnished Tube is a high-precision steel tube that has undergone two crucial machining processes: skiving and roller burnishing. These processes significantly enhance the tube’s surface finish, dimensional accuracy, and mechanical performance, making it ideal for high-performance hydraulic and pneumatic cylinder applications. The base material, CK45 (equivalent to DIN 1.1191 and SAE 1045), is a medium carbon steel widely recognized for its good machinability, wear resistance, and mechanical strength.
Manufactured under strict quality control standards, our CK45 tubes are produced using advanced CNC skiving machines and roller burnishing equipment to deliver a mirror-like internal surface and consistent dimensional tolerances. These tubes are widely used in hydraulic cylinders for construction machinery, agricultural equipment, material handling systems, and industrial automation.

Raw Material Selection
The manufacturing process begins with high-grade CK45 seamless steel tubes, sourced from reputable mills. Each tube is inspected for chemical composition and mechanical properties to ensure it meets international standards.
Cold Drawing or Honing (if applicable)
The tubes may undergo a cold drawing or honing process to refine the initial inner diameter and surface structure before skiving.
Skiving
In this process, a rotating cutting tool removes a small layer of metal from the inner surface of the tube. This creates a uniformly smooth internal surface while correcting minor geometric deviations.
Roller Burnishing
Following skiving, the tube undergoes roller burnishing. This cold-working process uses hard rollers to compress the inner surface, resulting in a mirror-like finish, enhanced hardness, and improved surface integrity.
Final Inspection and Surface Treatment
After machining, tubes are cleaned, dried, and coated with anti-rust oil. Every piece is checked for surface roughness, roundness, hardness, straightness, and dimensional tolerances.
The roller burnishing process reduces surface roughness to Ra ≤ 0.2 μm, resulting in a polished internal surface that minimizes friction and enhances sealing performance. This helps extend the life of the cylinder seals and improve overall efficiency.
The tubes maintain strict tolerance control of H8 for inner diameter, making them ideal for direct use in hydraulic and pneumatic cylinder barrels without additional machining.
The cold working process during roller burnishing increases surface hardness and fatigue resistance, making the tubes more durable and long-lasting in demanding environments.
Thanks to the high-quality surface finish and accurate tolerances, hydraulic systems built with CK45 skived and roller burnished tubes are less prone to leaks and component failures.
These tubes are “ready for assembly”—they do not require any further honing or finishing before installation in hydraulic cylinder manufacturing.
Our CK45 skived and roller burnished tubes are trusted by industries across the globe for their reliability and performance. Typical applications include:
Hydraulic Cylinders
Used in heavy-duty machinery such as excavators, bulldozers, loaders, and cranes.
Pneumatic Cylinders
Suitable for fast-response automation systems and industrial robots.
Agricultural Equipment
Utilized in tractors, harvesters, and hydraulic lifting systems.
Construction Machinery
Critical for hydraulic systems in concrete pump trucks, pile drivers, and lift platforms.
Material Handling Systems
Found in forklifts, lifting arms, and hydraulic lifts for smooth movement and control.
Mining Equipment
Ideal for use in harsh environments with high-pressure hydraulic systems.
Our CK45 skived and roller burnished tubes are subjected to a series of stringent quality checks throughout the production cycle:
Chemical Composition Test using spectrometers
Ultrasonic Testing (UT) for internal defects
Hydrostatic Pressure Testing upon request
Surface Roughness Measurement with profilometers
Inner Diameter Gauge with H8 tolerance check
Straightness Check with laser or digital straightness tools
Salt Spray Testing (upon request) for rust resistance performance
We are ISO 9001:2015 certified and follow international standards such as DIN 2391, EN 10305, and ASTM A519 in production and quality control.
