The 4140 Chrome Plated Rod – Induction Hardened (HRC 50–62) is a premium high-strength piston rod manufactured from 4140 alloy steel (equivalent to 42CrMo4). A two-step enhancement is applied:

This product features a hollow interior to reduce overall weight while maintaining rigidity, making it ideal for long-stroke hydraulic cylinders and mechanical systems that require both strength and efficiency.
The inner diameter (ID) is not honed, meaning it retains the original bore finish from the drilling process — suitable for non-sealing applications or when the internal surface finish is not critical.
